1. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mobile software development OÜ ("we", "us", or "our") accesses, collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Volume Control Sound Amplifier Android application (the "App") and its related website. This policy applies specifically to the App identified by the package name com.it4you.petralexmusic.

The App does not require you to create an account with us. We do not sell personal data.

2. Information processed by the App

2.1 Microphone and audio

The App may request access to your device microphone when you activate a feature that amplifies or processes sounds around you. Microphone access is used only to provide the audio amplification feature requested by you.

Microphone audio is processed in real time on your device. We do not record, store, upload, or transmit the content of microphone audio to our servers or to third parties. Microphone access stops when you stop the relevant feature or revoke the permission.

2.2 Audio files and media library

If you choose to play audio stored on your device, the App accesses only the audio files that you select or that are made available through the Android media library permissions granted by you. These files are processed locally for playback and sound enhancement. We do not upload your local audio files to our servers.

2.3 Dropbox

The App may allow you to select and play files from Dropbox. This feature is optional and is initiated by you. Authentication and file access are provided through Dropbox. We do not receive your Dropbox password. The App may store an authorization token locally on your device so that the connection can continue to work. You can revoke access through your Dropbox account settings, disconnect Dropbox in the App where available, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.

Dropbox processes information under its own privacy policy: https://www.dropbox.com/privacy.

2.4 App analytics and technical information

We use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how the App is used and to improve its stability, functionality, and user experience. Depending on your device settings and the Firebase configuration used in the released version of the App, Firebase may process technical and usage information such as:

  • App version and package name;
  • device model, operating system version, language, and country or region;
  • app-instance or similar identifiers;
  • events relating to feature use, sessions, and interactions with the App;
  • IP address and technical information used to provide and secure the service.

We do not send microphone recordings or the contents of your local audio files to Firebase. Google generally processes Firebase customer data on our behalf as a service provider or data processor. More information is available at: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy and https://policies.google.com/privacy.

2.5 Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number. We may receive limited transaction information, such as the product purchased, purchase status, subscription status, order identifier, and country, as necessary to activate paid functionality, prevent fraud, provide support, and comply with law. Google processes payment information under its own privacy policy.

2.6 Support communications

If you contact us, we may process your email address, the content of your message, attachments you choose to provide, and technical information necessary to investigate and respond to your request. Please do not send microphone recordings, health information, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your support request.

2.7 Website information

When you visit our website or this Privacy Policy page, our hosting and security providers may automatically process standard server-log information, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time, and security events. The website may use strictly necessary cookies required for security, session management, or basic operation. We do not use this Privacy Policy page to collect payment-card details.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process information only where necessary for the following purposes:

  • to provide the App features requested by you;
  • to play, amplify, and process audio on your device;
  • to validate purchases and subscriptions;
  • to maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App;
  • to respond to support requests;
  • to comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

Where applicable under data-protection law, our legal bases are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent by changing device permissions or relevant settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

4. How information is disclosed

We do not sell personal data and do not share microphone recordings or local audio-file content for advertising. Information may be disclosed only as follows:

  • Service providers: Google/Firebase, website hosting, email, security, and technical-support providers may process limited information on our behalf to provide their services.
  • Google Play: Google processes purchases, subscriptions, licensing, and related transaction information.
  • Dropbox: when you choose to connect Dropbox or access a Dropbox file, information is exchanged with Dropbox as necessary to perform your request.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, lawful process, or enforceable government requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or our services.
  • Business reorganization: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

5. International data transfers

Some service providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

6. Data retention

  • Microphone audio and local audio-file content are not retained by us.
  • Firebase analytics information is retained according to the retention settings configured for our Firebase project and is deleted or aggregated when it is no longer needed for the purposes described above.
  • Support communications are normally retained for up to 24 months after the request is resolved, unless a longer period is required for legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.
  • Website security logs are normally retained for no longer than 12 months unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse or comply with law.
  • Purchase and accounting records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other applicable laws.

7. Your choices and rights

You can control App access and information in several ways:

  • grant or revoke microphone and media permissions in Android settings;
  • stop using a microphone feature at any time;
  • disconnect or revoke Dropbox access;
  • clear the App's storage or uninstall the App;
  • manage purchases and subscriptions through Google Play;
  • contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal data we control.

Because the App does not require an account with us and microphone audio is not retained by us, we may not hold information that can be directly linked to you. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity and locate records connected with a support request or transaction.

Depending on your location, you may also have the right to object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise a right, email support@algorithm-electronics.com.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Network communications under our control are transmitted using secure protocols where applicable. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where required. If the App is distributed to a younger audience in a particular country, additional age and parental-consent requirements may apply.

10. Third-party services and links

The App and website may contain links to or integrations with services operated by third parties, including Google Play, Firebase, and Dropbox. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before using the relevant service.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
